Egyptian Glass Rose Finial Candy Jar — 24K Gold Rim (Model 141)

A glass rose, opened on the lid. Pink petals and green leaves are lampworked one at a time and set on a ribbed crystal jar, rimmed at the lid, the shoulder and the foot in 24K liquid gold fired into the glass.

Mouth-blown in our Cairo workshop. The gold is fired, not painted, so it survives washing; the rose is worked petal by petal, which is why every flower opens a little differently.
