Egyptian Glass Mabkhara — Thalj · Ice-Crackle Bands with Perforated Gold Tray (Model 155)

Frost on the glass, fire inside it — a mabkhara ringed with crushed-ice texture.

Thalj, “snow”, is a goblet-shaped burner on a knopped stem and round foot. Three bands of ice-crackle glass are trailed around the bowl while it is still hot, each one separated by a fine line of 24K gold, so the coloured body shows through a texture that looks like frost. On top sits a perforated gold tray that holds the charcoal disc and lets the ember breathe; it lifts out for cleaning.

It is the modern piece in the range — graphic, tactile, and strong in a single colour across a shelf — and the one younger Gulf customers reach for. The gold tray makes it practical for daily use; the crackle makes it a gift.

Each piece is mouth-blown and the crackle is applied by hand in our Cairo workshop; no two bands break the same way — the signature of the craft.
