Lulu, “pearls”, is a goblet-shaped burner on a knopped stem and round foot. Around the bowl run three bands of a raised, granular texture that our workshop calls Kanish (كانيش) — in the workshop they also call it fatafeet al-sukkar, “sugar crumbs”. Fine glass grains are fused onto the hot body so each band stands up from the surface like a string of tiny pearls. Every band is framed by a fine line of 24K gold. On top sits a perforated gold tray that holds the charcoal disc and lets the ember breathe; it lifts out for cleaning.

It is the modern piece in the range — graphic, tactile, and strong in a single colour across a shelf — and the one younger Gulf customers reach for. The gold tray makes it practical for daily use; the pearl bands make it a gift.

Each piece is mouth-blown and the Kanish is applied by hand in our Cairo workshop; no two bands fall exactly the same way — the signature of the craft.
